We started Rugged State because we couldn't find "Montana" apparel that appealed to us. Everything felt mass-produced, loud, and disconnected from what Montana actually is.

We believe in clean designs with an edge. Everything you see here is designed from our "Log Monster" home in Stillwater County, MT - but is made to wander!

It was hard not to be inspired when we got here. Twenty-three acres of Montana wilderness and a log home that has stories we will never know.

Our chocolate lab-chow mix has loved exploring the property. One of her favorite things is to chase off the coyotes, but - being a Dallas-dog, didn't understand barbed wire. She does now.
